Lincolnshire Rivers Trust (LRT) ‘Waterways, Wellies and Wellbeing’ project has been granted funding from the Postcode Local Trust from players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The LRT team are celebrating after being awarded just over £13,700 to support their project focusing on the historic Brayford Pool in Lincoln. By establishing new habitat; a haven for water wildlife will be created, providing an enhanced environment to enrich well-being for people and resilience for the river. The project also will offer opportunities for practical volunteering for local people, businesses and students, and engagement activities to help communities understand how their behaviour impacts their local waterways.
Dr Lauren Vickers, Chair of LRT is delighted to have been awarded the funding: ‘This funding will help us on our first steps into improving the freshwater environment in Lincoln. I would like to thank the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery for their support in this project’.

The project is also being supported by funding from the Environment Agency and LIncolnshire Cooperative Community Fund and is being undertaken with permission from the Brayford Trust and Lincoln University.
